OBSTA has been origintated within CLAUDE company, inventor of the Neon fluorescent tube and of the Krypton lamp at the beginning of the last century. Since the 70s, OBSTA is specialized in the manufacture of obstruction lights for aviation. Since 1992, OBSTA and the surge proctection department of CLAUDE have joined CITEL, based in Sèvres (Paris area, France), specialized in the manufacture of gas discharge tubes and overvoltage protections www.citel2cp.com. The OBSTA lights are manufactured in France, in our factory located in Reims. Our main office is located in Sèvres in Paris area.

Cold disharge neon light : cold discharge neon OBSTA lights have the feature of an incredible life expectancy of several decades. The Neon is an inert noble gas not influenced by extreme temperatures, UV radiations or electromagnetic interferences. The lighting part of the beacon (glass cover, light source, optic system) is in hard glass. Then no maintenance is needed. OBSTA has a worldwide exclusivity product, manufactured for more than 50 years called the BALISOR. The BALISOR is  devoted to the marking of high voltage wires from 60kV to 550kV.

LED lights : The NAVILITE series manufactured by OBSTA and using the LED technology is devoted to the easy access infrastructures or temporary ones (cranes, wind masts,..).

Xenon lights : The white flashing medium intensity lights are used for day and night time markings.

These three technologies cover all the categories defined in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) : low, medium and high intensity. Our product are approuved by the STAC for the ICAO regulation and Intertek for the FAA.
